"Every day is Mother's Day..in Islam"
My opinion:
It is true if you see it thru' Islam..every single day you need to remember your mother..treat her nice..communicate with her..be there for her..BUT..how many people can do that..especially living in this island of Singapore where sometimes we don't have time to pamper ourselves..
I don't like to pinpoint others..just myself..The minute I started working, I will always be at the office..Sometimes during the weekends too..no joke..It is based on my past working experience..Yes! I am always the crazy woman working..Not sure why I love working in that manner..Many friends commented,"You have no life!"..which I responded,"My work is my life!"..
However, after 2013, I have made a change..a point where I told myself that I need to sit down, eat my dinner or supper & chat with my mom every single day..every single night..no matter how tired I am..no matter how sleepy I can be reaching home at midnight..And even if I've eaten outside with my friends; I still need to go home & eat again with my mom..That's me..And with that change, my mom will not eat until I return from work..every single day..every single night..She will waits for me..That's my mom since after 2013..following my flow!
To me - after I missed out my mom's major surgery in 2005 (I was working on night shift & no one willing to takeover..still angry each time remember that), I make it a routine to eat with my mom every single day..every single night..I'm not afraid to see my body become bigger..despite I wish to lose weight..😁 😁 😁..as long as I don't miss a chance to sit down, eat my meal & at the same time, chat my mom up..usually, I just listen - my mom does the talking..She's the boss!..😁 😁 😁..Bcoz I know that someday, all these will only be memories for me..after my mom leaves this world..That's the fact..That's the reality..So, while she's alive - I'm just taking advantage of it!!!
But I cannot expect all humans to be like me, right???..So if that's the case, make it a point to celebrate Mother's Day today - at least once a year with your mother, foster mother, step mother, mother-in-law, mommy-monster..oooppppssss..terover lak..😁 😁 😁..Just eat eat laugh laugh with your beloved woman..Nothing wrong with that, am I right???
Islam always encourage us, Muslims to make other humans happy, right??? So, make your mother happy today..Nothing wrong to celebrate this occasion if you look at it thru' humanity..knowing that you don't have lots of time to spent with your mother..Just redeem the lost time with this one particular day..What so difficult about that???

I apologise if it seems like I'm going against Islamic rules & the belief of some Muslims worldwide due to this issue..I'm sorry, ok??!!!..but as a Muslim myself & an imperfect human, I think I should ease some doubts of some Muslims about celebrating Mother's Day today..bcoz like I mentioned above, not all humans able to be that child who celebrates the mother on daily basis..
As for myself, I thank God always for giving me such an understanding mother who does not demand anything much..just a phonecall if her children not living with her..or travelling overseas..simple as that..That's what I did each time I entered a foreign country; call my mom first..Yes! Even at this age in 40s, I still do that..no other excuses!
